We've been using the PowertankTM for years on our off-road rig to air up tires, run airtools and basically as a portable air source. Well guess what...it makes a perfect companion for track days or just for having around in the garage. So, whether it's adjusting air pressure in your tires, removing wheels and tires between runs or at the end of the day or performing repairs it's the perfect portable air source.
The Powertank systems come complete with everything you need to start airing up tires. This includes the aluminum tank in either blue or polished (+$80), the solid aluminum handle/guard, the 25- foot DuraThane low temp. hose with fittings and air chuck, the SuperFlow HP C02 regulator, Protective Sport Bag, and a universal coupler (makes switching between tools and/or air chuck a breeze).
The aluminum tank is the lightest on the market for compressed gas, half the weight of steel tanks and aluminum scuba tanks. The SuperFlow HPTM regulators are designed specifically for industrial and vehicle use. The stout regulator guard doubles as a carrying handle although its primary function is to protect the regulator and valve during use and transport. The coiled hose will not leak, kink, freeze, or crack under the harshest conditions. The Sports Bag allows you to carry the Powertank and accessories safely and securely while protecting it from scratches and other damage. It has convenient carrying handles on the top and sides along with straps for securing inside the vehicle or to anything at your location (Pop-up tent for example). The Universal coupler makes it a breeze to switch between your various Air Tools and the air chuck.
The PT-10 contains 10 pounds of CO2 which is equivelent to 82 Cubic Feet or 627.3 gals of air. Thats enough to run a regular air gun under load for 6 minutes continously. Or, put another way...when removing lug nuts you normally would use the air gun for approx. 1 second. A 5 lug wheel would require 5 seconds. So, you could remove 72 wheels with one charge. Adjusting air pressure on a 255/35/19 tire from 35-40 PSI takes about 5 seconds or 1 pound per second. That means you can increase the pressure from 35-40psi 72 times.
